What exactly does a network server do?
A server is the computer that communicates with every computer,
printer, fax, time clock etc and runs shared applications within
your office. Most servers are used for file and print sharing,
email, messaging, security measures, inventory, and shared accounting
systems. Servers provide a seamless connection to proven back
up technology for data protection.
In a nutshell, all of your computers can print/ fax/scan to a
central machine. This enables faster print capabilities and access
to documents. Servers allow employees to efficiently share information
from within the network or remotely. They protect your confidential
business information and only allow access to employees with permission
to view files. Servers offer the reassurance that your company
information is safe, because servers back up all of your data
enabling it to be recovered in the event of negligence or events
beyond your control.
